The 15th Annual Art Directors Guild Award Nominations Are…

Taking place this Saturday, February 5th, at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Art Director’s Guild will hand out 11 Awards and induct legendary Production Designers Alexander Golitizen, Albert Heschong and Eugene Lourie into their Hall of Fame.

Although obvious, it should be mentioned that in order to be nominated, the Production Designer must be a member of the ADG. Therefore a lot of projects shot in New York City, Toronto, Vancouver, and the U.K. for example are not eligible. This must be the reason Boardwalk Empire is not nominated below despite having the best production design of the year. If I were to pick the winners I would choose, in order of category: Shutter Island, Inception, Black Swan, Mad Men, Revenge of the Bridesmaids, Modern Family, Conan, 82nd Annual Academy Awards, and Capital One Frozen Pipes Commercial. All of the nominated commercials are linked below for your viewing pleasure.
