Art Departmental’s Top 10 Best Films of 2011

On Oscar Sunday, check out Art Departmental’s Best Films of 2011 including films such as Moneyball, Shame, and The Tree of Life.

Art DepartMENTAL's 2011 Top 10 Favourite Films- Tree of LifeHere is our list of the best films of 2011. If there is anything we love more than production design it is film in and of itself. We see roughly 250-300 films a year so while we definitely have a bit of catching up to do we did watch quite a few films last year.

However, we’re still kicking ourselves that I have yet to see A Separation which I’ve been told is phenomenal. Perhaps once I see it this list will change, but as of right now, on Oscar Sunday, here are my Top 10 Favourites of 2011.

  1. Not having seen many of the nominees, I am in no position to judge the best. But since HUGO picked up awards for cinematography and PD/Set Dec, it must be a movie I must get on Blue Ray. Let’s see what else rises to the top tonight.

    1. I really loved Hugo. It’s a sweetly nostalgic film. I was hoping it would win best picture since I knew The Tree of Life didn’t stand a chance.
